1. Public Forum

  • Attendees: Kirk G, Zachary King

  • Request: Use of DOD’s CanyCom (powered wheelbarrow) for trail work at Suzanne Arlie.

    • Sean F: Okay if DOD doesn’t need it. Recommends a work-trade agreement – specifically, repair sections of Super Maple at the trailhead in fall.

    • Board: Agreed.

  • Adam Steffen:

    • Trail construction at Suzanne Arlie Park began last week.

    • Coordination ongoing with ODF due to fire season restrictions.

    • Building one bike park “hub” now; another hub to be built next spring (pending land ownership timeline).

    • Balancing public messaging: don’t want people riding closed areas, but do want to share progress.

    • There will be a public process for naming or artistic elements.


2. Position Reports

A. Chair – Sean Fitzpatrick

  • DOD will have a booth at the Lane County Fair (insurance acquired).

  • Volunteer sign-up forthcoming.

  • Willie can staff booth when others unavailable.

  • Wants to include merchandise and trail maps.

  • Booth located indoors, next to Weyerhauser.

  • Spoke with Aaron (Team Dirt): working toward a regional trail org – “Willamette Trail Alliance/Association.”

  • Travel Corvallis is sponsoring a brainstorming session (2–3 reps per group).

  • DOD video edit by Tom Lyons is still pending.

B. Vice Chair – Austin Larson

  • Established BLM contact for Whypass: Christine Nichols.

    • Supportive of trails.

    • Environmental assessment (EA) needed for Hit Parade extension – requires detailed map.

    • EA process is reportedly streamlined.

    • Trail line flagged from SST to Hit Parade.

  • Ben H: Suggested focus on a climb trail from the top of Hit Parade, to support future descending trails.

C. Treasurer – Chantal Angot

  • Account balance: $26,000+

  • Suggested standardized emails for:

    • Membership issues

    • Thank-yous

  • Ben H: One membership workflow works with MailChimp; others don’t.

  • Chantal and Ben will work on MailChimp/membership renewal integration.

D. Secretary – Jeff Green

  • Will speak with a non-voting member about dissatisfaction and possible dues refund.

  • Noted need for annual elections each Q1 for any 2-year terms.

    • Motion: Hold voting-member elections each February.

E. Trail Work – Mike Sheppard

  • Requested new tools: 1 backpack blower and 2 brushers.

    • Motion by Sean: Approve purchase

      • Seconded by: Ben

      • Approved by Board

  • Wants additional trail work coordinator (position should have at least two people).

  • Opposed to casual/uncoordinated tool use.

  • Trail work upcoming: June 20 at Chinquapin Chutes.

F. PR/Marketing – Ben Hansen

  • 356 Mailchimp contacts

  • Newsletter on Suzanne Arlie forthcoming

  • Wants to launch a membership drive

G. Rides/Events – Brian Peas

  • Planning a happy ride in July

  • Team Dirt’s shuttle day is this weekend

  • MBO volunteers are arranged
