DOD Board Meeting Minutes
Wetlands Brewpub and Sports Grill, 922 Garfield St Eugene
Feb 9, 2026
Commenced 6:09 pm
1. Public Forum:
Jack Hill: WJ pump track - about to launch a website. Will then start the campaign, pass out flyers, etc. Got quotes from Velo Solutions - around $2 1/2 to 5 1/2M.
Nina Fortune: I had women ask about weekly women-only rides. I'm willing to take it on - beginner no-drop women's rides. Sean: Pick a date and time and we'll put it on the calendar for you. Discussion - Dirt Maidens.
Adam Steffan: There will be another short section of trail that will be added - it was on private land. It will be a wide climbing multi-use multi-directin trail. OMBC met recently - not much on the agenda at this point but the coalition is staying together for potential future issues.
Cody, Shawn Litson, present.
Jeff (BWOL): BWOL to provide DOD volunteers with certificates for free e-MTB demos.
2. Position reports:
A. Chair (Sean Fitzpatrick): I think ACM went well, over 200 people there, lots of vendors and raffle donors. Ben said there should be two intermediate groups and also split up the climbing on Hit Parade due to the extra traffic. I had some correspondence with Alex from OTA. Trying to get a Lawlerpalooza going. Sat workday, Sunday shuttle. June 6th/7th. We want to do a breakfast/lunch.
B. Vice Chair (Austin Larson): Trailer has lots of stuff crammed in there. We got new fuel bottles, glasses, chaps, etc. I might be a member on OMBC. Lawlerpalooza is happening. Tuesday night rides going well - Jennifer and I are doing that, trading off. Whypass: NWYC had done work for DOD in the past, and it would be a great training opportunity to help DOD to build new trail - the SST extension. Jeff: Consider using NWYC for the climb trail reroute for Hit Parade since its construction is less critical.
C. Treasurer (Chantal Angot): I put together an ACM document - it's a recap of what everyone does and what needs to happen, volunteer positions, and timelines for each needed task leading up to ACM. We should have water at ACM. Total income ACM was about $5k. ACM expenses were around $880. Our account is now over $32k. James and I went to the OTA fireside chat. They talked about needing more grants, town to trail section, etc.
D. Secretary (Jeff Green): DOD store is live.
E. Trail Work (Vacant):
F. PR/Marketing (Ben Hansen): (Planned absence)
G. Rides/Events (Brian Peais): Memorial weekend - Spence Mountain destination ride. ACM went well. Everyone seemed happy with how things went. I went to the sportsman's show - there was a WFA guy there. They do it free for non-profits. They offered their services to us. They also have a weekend get-away where you go to a cabin by ski-cat. They just ask for a donation. Happy Rides - I'm thinking a March happy ride - North Shore. Maybe wait on scheduling til we have a clearer weather forecast. Barbie Camp is coming up in April. Pipe Dream every Tuesday.
