April 2025

1. Public Forum: Closed meeting – no public attendees.
2. Position reports:
A. Chair (Sean): No August meeting. Maybe a July Board ride. Applied for a grant through
DeVinci Bikes ($5000 CA). Getting insurance renewed – expires in two weeks. Barbie Camp
toilets paid for. May be setting up a garage sale situation with Rolf Prima – asked Willie for
dates. I'd like to design a Taco Tuesday shirt. My wife can design. Proceeds to help Thurston
trail work.

B. Vice Chair (Austin Larson): DOD race team is set up. Meeting with BLM rep for Hit Parade
climb route. Weyerhauser – Buck Creek is where Weyerhauser said we could lease the land
and develop trail. Jack Hill: One square mile – 800 ft elevation loss. The south ridge is the
best starting point for starting the trail system. Roseburg crew would be more likely to assist
in this trail system. North ridge is more jagged and no easy road there. Likely hand building.
Redford Butte area. It would be a membership based system. $2600/year lease plus
insurance. Hoot n Holly is flagged at Thurston Hills – now seeking approval from
Willamalane. No word yet from Tom Lyons on our video edit. Tried to reach out to OTA
regarding their grant status – no word back yet.

C. Treasurer (Chantal): Working on getting passwords changed over on our accounts. DOD
account is stable.

D. Secretary (Jeff Green): Still working on the brochure. Need more media such as photos –
kids, women, younger riders etc. Minutes sent.

E. Trail Work (Mike Sheppard): Flagged Hoot n Holly with Jack at Willamalane. Our new
Willamalane contact likes that trail name. We could possibly start building that trail this
seaon. BLM communications are challenging at this point. Willamalane reps want to meet
out there at Thurston Hills. Whypass needs a lot of work – scotch broom is taking over a
couple trails. Peter O'Toole recommended volunteer sheets being filled out for each
volunteer session – even at Willamalane. Will work with Jay on the North Shore trail to show
him where the dam to trail route is for brushing.

F. PR/Marketing (Ben Hansen): I sent a couple more newsletters, working on a draft for
targeted fundraising compaign. Also working on a membership campaign. Sending reminder
for upcoming stuff like Barbie Camp. Baby Steps is roughed in. Needs to be finished and Jack
Hill is being paid to finish it.

G. Rides/Events (Brian Peas): Black Rock shuttle fundraiser May 3rd. May 10th Happy Ride at
Black Rock. MBO is coming up – need volunteers to man the tent, etc. Team Dirt shuttle
fundraiser is coming up as well June 21 and 22. Social night – we should schedule a social
night at one of our sponsors.
